Ever wondered how big the observable universe is? Today, you will find out.
The Expansion of the Universe
But, if something is infinite, how does it expand? That is because the universe is expanding into itself! Think of it like this: the universe always existed, and the Big Bang is just what gave it color. So the universe is not expanding, it is what is in it. The universe is infinite, but what is in it is not. What is in it is just running to conquer the universe. The observable universe is 90 billion light years! Only half a light year is up to 5,800,700,900 (5.879 billion) miles!
Dark Energy
Dark energy is an energy that is slowly making the universe expand. Scientists don't quite know about this type of energy. Dark energy slowly makes things that are close to each other, separate. Think of a happy family of galaxies, the dark energy is all the anger and disagreements. As the energy becomes more and more bigger, the parent galaxies get a divorce and leave forever. This leaves a space in between the galaxies, it gets bigger and bigger as the galaxies get farther. Dark energy will eventually make the cold and chilly death of the universe, as there will be only space, and everything will be dead or divorced, to the point when all are dead.
The Future of the Universe
This is how huge the universe is… You read this with a question and came back with an existential crisis, right? Do you want to know the universe in the future and what it will be? In the future, no more things will exist and the universe will start expanding so fast that matter will pull apart and protons will turn into nothing. If dark energy is represented by the cosmological constant, a constant energy density scattered around space, or scalar fields, such as quintessence or moduli, dynamic quantities whose energy density can vary in time and space accelerates the expansion of the universe, then the space between clusters of galaxies will grow at an increasing rate. Redshift will stretch ancient, incoming photons (even gamma rays) to undetectably long wavelengths and low energies. Stars are expected to form normally for 10^12 10^14 (1–100 trillion) years, but eventually, the supply of gas needed for star formation will be exhausted. As existing stars run out of fuel and cease to shine, the universe will slowly, for an unimaginable time, grow darker.

Summary
The universe is truly huge. It is 90 billion light years across! That is only the observable universe though, the rest is infinite! And so is time, starting with a huge bang of light, and ending in cold darkness. No need to worry about the future! Your life is nothing compared to this universe, so follow your dreams, you can do anything! So live life and do not worry about silly things! You have a life to live!
